Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our dynamic team at Defense Unicorns. This role is pivotal in designing and building software solutions that leverage AI to enhance mission capabilities. You will be responsible for developing applications that utilize vision, language, and other models tailored for specific hardware and use cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI-Powered Applications: Build applications that enable critical mission use cases using AI technologies.
- Framework Development: Create monitoring, testing, and benchmarking frameworks for AI applications.
- Design Optimization: Develop AI application patterns that optimize performance under constraints such as power and heat.
- Collaborative Culture: Work closely with team members to foster a fun, experimental, and cohesive work environment.
Travel and Location
- Travel Requirements: 5-15% travel may be required.
- Work Location: This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office in Phoenix, Arizona.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years in software development, with a focus on embedded systems in Linux or Android.
- Technical Skills: Experience with LLM application patterns, model inference APIs on GPUs, and fine-tuning models for specific tasks.
- Mentorship: A passion for growing and mentoring others in technical skills.
- Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking skills and a desire to learn new technologies.
