About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Appgate, you will be a key player in developing and maintaining our flagship security product, Appgate SDP. This role involves a blend of engineering tasks including designing, architecting, and developing software solutions, as well as testing, documenting, and deploying them. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the high standards of security and functionality that our clients expect.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of Appgate SDP as part of a creative and collaborative team.
- Lead and participate in technical decisions and direction for the project.
- Design, architect, and develop robust and scalable software solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Perform code reviews and maintain a high standard of software quality.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise during development and in production.
- Collaborate with other R&D teams, as well as Product, Technical Support, Delivery, Customer Success, and InfoSec teams.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in backend development, particularly with Java and Python.
- Strong experience with REST API development and maintenance.
- Experience with distributed systems and understanding system load and concurrency issues.
- Proficiency in containerized workloads including Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
