Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) at EdgeTier, you will be a key player in developing and maintaining the core backend systems that power our innovative products. You will work on a variety of features and functionalities, ensuring high-quality code and robust software architecture. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to the strategic technical direction of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and maintain backend systems, including APIs, core functionalities, and databases.
• Work on infrastructure architecture and code changes.
• Review code from team members, mentor junior developers, and support their growth.
• Maintain high-quality code standards and instill solid principles within the team.
• Collaborate with team members and other business areas to enhance product offerings.
• Contribute ideas to product architecture and functionality.
• Review pull requests and maintain systems by fixing bugs and developing new features.
• Work with frontend developers to design APIs.
• Engage directly with senior management to support the development of EdgeTier's technical strategy.
• Introduce new technologies and ideas to the development team.

About You

Required Experience

• Over 7 years of Python development experience.
• More than 5 years of experience developing web applications in Python, ideally using Flask.
• Over 3 years of experience with SQL, specifically SQLAlchemy.
• Experience using ORMs and accessing databases from Python, ideally with SQLAlchemy and Postgres.

Selection Process

2. Video Call with Technical Lead to discuss your experience and skills from a technical perspective (30-45 minutes).
3. Home Assessment: Complete an assessment at your own pace.
4. Final Interview: Review your task and make live changes during the call (80-120 minutes).
