About the Role
Kiddom is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and building scalable frameworks for third-party API integrations, leveraging existing infrastructure to develop RESTful web services, and crafting APIs and robust testing environments for both internal and external developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable frameworks for third-party API integrations.
- Leverage existing infrastructure to develop RESTful web services.
- Build APIs and robust testing environments for internal and external developers.
- Ensure attention to detail in all aspects of development, mindful of the impact on educational opportunities.
- Craft delightful user experiences and take ownership of the product.
What We Look For
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience in designing and building REST APIs.
- Exposure to authorization technologies such as OAuth.
- Experience with continuous integration and automation tools and processes.
- Strong knowledge of design patterns and software engineering best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Motivated and responsible individual with a sincere interest in working at a startup.
Nice to Have
- Experience with educational technologies.
- Experience or interest in education.
- Experience working at a startup.
- Experience with React/Redux, Go(lang), Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and AWS (EC2, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, Lambda).
- Experience with Terraform.
