About the Role
HelloFresh is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Production Planning squad within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) teams. This role is based in Berlin, Germany, and offers an exciting opportunity to work on our production planning platform, which is crucial for driving the production processes behind HelloFresh products.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Development: Take ownership of the architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations of services that drive the production planning process.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work in a cross-functional team, typically 3-5 people, using various technologies and frameworks. Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders.
- Mentorship & Support: Act as an ambassador for software solutions, offering support and mentorship to colleagues. Share practical knowledge and trends with team members.
- Technology Stack: Work with technologies like Kotlin, Kafka, Spring, Kubernetes, Istio, and more.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: Proven experience with software development in Kotlin or Java, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Database Knowledge: Knowledge of relational and document databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
- DevOps Skills: Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes, and in-depth work with event-driven architectures using RabbitMQ and/or Kafka.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to convey complex technical topics to stakeholders, peers, and junior engineers.
- Best Practices: Ability to advocate for engineering best practices such as TDD and DDD.
