Your Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Monta, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our B2B Charge Point Management System (CPMS). You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement features that meet user needs. Your expertise in Kotlin and PHP will be essential as we transition from a PHP monolith to smaller Kotlin services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new features and maintain existing ones in our PHP codebase.
- Onboard and develop our Kotlin BFF service.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement features.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers with less PHP experience.
- Integrate our BFF (Kotlin) with our PHP monolith and microservices.
- Help business clients seamlessly onboard users and charge points into the Hub.

Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in PHP 8.x & Laravel.
- Experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot or Kotlin and Micronaut.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
- Expertise in building RESTful APIs and familiarity with Open API 3.x.
- Comfortable learning new technologies and tackling industry challenges.
- Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven technologies is a plus.
