About the Role
Technology alone cannot tackle climate change, but people who understand technology can make a significant impact. Are you a passionate Full Stack Software Engineer eager to use your skills to drive the energy transition? Whether you're already in the energy sector or coming from another industry, if you're looking for an exciting new challenge in renewable energy, we want you to apply!
Our team in Hamburg is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer. Here, you can indulge your passion for modern technology and play a crucial role in shaping the data provisioning platform for our power plant deployment and optimization processes.
What You Will Do
Your focus will be on the development and enhancement of software components for the central data provisioning platform of our optimization infrastructure. This involves data from the deployment planning of our energy facilities, ranging from hydropower plants to batteries, wind, and solar energy plants across continental Europe. By continuously optimizing our generation portfolio, we generate market flexibility, ensuring that just the right amount of electricity is produced to balance supply and demand. We handle and generate over 10,000 time series daily, around the clock. These data are made available to stakeholders across the company via our self-service platform for downstream decision analysis and result preparation.
Your work will be pivotal in determining whether we have done everything possible to make the greatest contribution to the European energy transition and how we can take another step forward every day.
You will use your programming skills to optimize, monitor, validate, and provide data in a user-friendly manner. Additionally, you will empower our internal stakeholders to generate and calculate any datasets they need, ensuring everything is as frustration-free as possible so that our stakeholders can focus entirely on their mission – fossil freedom.
You will be part of an international team working in an agile environment, offering plenty of room for your ideas and personal development.
Your Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and monitor a microservice landscape for post-operative data processing and provisioning.
- Engage closely with our stakeholders and users from various departments.
- Transform complex requirements into reliable IT solutions, actively contributing your ideas.
- Collaborate in a dynamic, interdisciplinary Scrum team.
Your Profile
Ideally, your profile includes:
- Enthusiasm for the latest technologies and innovations.
- A relevant university degree, e.g., Bachelor in (Business) Informatics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 7 years of practical experience in software development with Java or Kotlin.
- Extensive knowledge of the Spring Framework (e.g., Boot, Data, Security).
- Strong practical experience in at least one JavaScript/TypeScript framework, preferably Angular 12+.
- Experience with event-streaming platforms like Kafka with Protobuf.
- Experience with event-driven microservice architecture, cloud technologies, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong affinity for user-friendly interface development (UX/UI Design) and interface conception.
- Excellent customer orientation and communication skills.
- Team spirit and enjoyment of collaboration with others.
- Language skills: Good English and German are required.
