Your Impact
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be the architect of our global payment platform. You will design, develop, and optimize core systems that power millions of transactions daily, directly impacting our customers' experiences and our company's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend systems using Python and frameworks such as Django or Flask.
- Optimize system performance and reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews and design discussions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
What You Need to Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3-5 years of backend development experience.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks like Django or Flask.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful services with a focus on scalability and reliability.
- Strong understanding of database design, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience with ORM tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proven ability to mentor junior engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale, high-performance systems.
- Knowledge of the payment processing industry and relevant regulations.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
Our Work Environment
PayPal offers a balanced hybrid work model, with 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace.
