The Fairlo story began thirty years ago with the family of our founders Jimmy and Shamon fleeing political turmoil and ending up in Sweden. Struggling to give her children all that they desired, Jimmy and Shamon’s mother took a small unsecured loan. It seemed like a good deal but it quickly turned sour as the loan increased in size in spite of the continuous payments. Much later, having grown up, the two brothers revisited this incident and it became the spark that ignited the Fairlo vision. The fact that a trusted bank took predatory advantage of their family, when they were the most vulnerable, became the starting point of a quest to create a fair credit service.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Fairlo, you will take a leading role in shaping the future of our core services. Your work will involve:

• Building and Optimizing: Architect and develop critical backend systems and APIs. Your focus will include integrating with AWS and other third-party vendors.
• Full Lifecycle Involvement: Engage in all stages of the development lifecycle – from gathering requirements and designing solutions to implementation and testing.
• Continuous Improvement: Employ a curious and dynamic approach to continuously evaluate and upgrade our systems, ensuring Fairlo's technology remains at the cutting edge.

What We Are Looking For

Want to start your own Fairlo journey? We're looking for a backend engineer who is:

• Experienced: You have at least five years of experience in backend development within a professional setting.
• Technically Skilled: You have hands-on experience with modern backend frameworks such as Express.js, Nest.js, .NET / .NET Core, or Spring. Proficiency with relational databases is expected
• Cloud-Savvy: Your background includes developing web applications optimized for cloud environments, particularly AWS.
• Principled in Design: You have a solid grasp of web protocols, systems architecture, design principles, and patterns necessary to build scalable web applications.
• Agile: You are accustomed to working in an agile development environment and thrive in fast-paced, collaborative settings.
• Communicative: Strong communication skills are essential, with fluency in English required as it is our working language.
