Role Overview
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Dealfront, you will focus on developing robust APIs, managing data processing flows, and ensuring seamless integrations. This role is crucial for optimizing the use of various databases such as AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis. You will work within a dynamic team environment to maintain and enhance our backend infrastructure, which includes multiple Ruby and Ruby on Rails applications alongside Serverless components like AWS Lambda and API Gateway.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain APIs and backend services using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Manage serverless components such as AWS Lambda and AWS Kinesis for data collection and processing.
- Optimize database usage across multiple platforms including DynamoDB, AWS RDS, and Elasticsearch.
- Collaborate with team members to provide code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality.
- Explore and integrate new technologies to enhance system reliability and performance.
Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming with a willingness to work primarily in Ruby.
- Experience with AWS technologies and serverless architecture.
- Strong understanding of microservices patterns and Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong foundation in software architecture and data modeling.
- Experience in DevOps and infrastructure management is a plus.
