Who We Are
Ethena Labs is pioneering the development of the first ETH based yield-bearing synthetic dollar. Our team comprises experts from traditional finance and crypto engineering, with backgrounds from top firms like Cerberus, Wintermute, Flow Traders, Deribit, Paradigm, Aave, Blockdaemon, and Kaiko. We are supported by major exchanges and trading entities in the cryptocurrency space.
What We Are Doing
We are dedicated to building derivative infrastructure that enables Ethereum to evolve into the Internet Bond through delta-neutral derivatives positions. Our goal is to create sUSDe, the first crypto-native, yield-bearing synthetic dollar. This initiative is crucial as it aims to establish a synthetic dollar independent of traditional banking systems.

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Ethena Labs, you will:
- Design, build, and scale integrations between decentralized matching, risk, and limit order book systems.
- Develop high-performance REST & WebSocket APIs.
- Write open-source TypeScript & Python clients.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, researchers, and product managers to transform requirements into innovative products.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a full-time developer.
- Strong engineering skills: ability to write modular, maintainable code within a complex codebase.
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Express, WebSockets, Docker.
- Experience in building blockchain applications or smart contracts is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
