Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain APIs and SDK tools for a growing ecosystem of protocol developers.
- Operate and enhance Bluesky's existing web services, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with application and infrastructure teams to design and deploy impactful user-facing features.
Ideal Candidate
- Possesses strong fundamental programming skills and a deep understanding of software engineering principles.
- Has extensive experience with TypeScript and Node.js (2+ years), and has built scalable, high-performance server-side applications.
- Is familiar with working on distributed systems and has practical knowledge of databases like Postgres and Cassandra.
- Has experience with gRPC/Protobufs and understands cryptographic primitives such as public/private keys and merkle trees.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with Go, Elasticsearch, or other data stores is highly regarded.
- Previous work on social networking sites or familiarity with the IPLD or DID ecosystems is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for small, fast-moving teams and a desire to contribute to a transformative project.
