Senior Python Developer

Job Overview

Bluesquare is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Python Developer to join their team and contribute to the Pathways project. As a key member of the OpenHEXA team working on Pathways, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with a diverse team of experts dedicated to transforming healthcare.

Pathways is one of Bluesquare's flagship projects funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It’s the world’s first open platform that provides insights on the multidimensional vulnerabilities faced by women and children in developing countries. The goal is to understand the impact of these vulnerabilities on their health and to help inform effective action.

OpenHexa is a data integration and analysis platform for public health. It’s designed to allow data scientists, data analysts, and decision-makers to explore, analyze, transform, and integrate data coming from different sources.

Responsibilities

Develop, improve, and maintain the OpenHexa backend in the context of the Pathways project.
Contribute to the design of the application architecture.
Contribute to the product roadmap.
Review code and write tests.

Required Skills and Experience

Extensive professional experience as a Python developer.
Strong Python skills.
Extensive experience with Django (or a similar framework).
Hands-on Docker & Kubernetes experience.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (or Azure / AWS).
Strong SQL skills (ideally PostgreSQL).
Extensive experience with API design and development.
Good oral and written communication skills in English and ideally French.

Nice to Have

Data Engineering experience.
GraphQL experience.
Some experience with React/Typescript.
HTML/CSS working knowledge.
