Senior Frontend Full Stack Developer

Job Overview

Bluesquare is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Frontend Full Stack Developer to join our team and contribute to the Pathways project. As a key member of the OpenHEXA team working on Pathways, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with a diverse team of experts dedicated to transforming healthcare.

Pathways is one of our flagship projects funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It’s the world’s first open platform that provides insights on the multidimensional vulnerabilities faced by women and children in developing countries. The goal is to understand the impact of these vulnerabilities on their health and to help inform effective action.

OpenHexa is a data integration and analysis platform for public health. It’s designed to allow data scientists, data analysts, and decision-makers to explore, analyze, transform, and integrate data coming from different sources. For the Pathways project, we are also leveraging Strapi for content management and Apache Superset for data visualization, which are integral parts of the project’s web platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain user-friendly and responsive web interfaces and applications that meet the needs of the Pathways project.
• Collaborate with Pathways designers to create intuitive and visually appealing user experiences.
• Build and maintain backend services and integrations that support the functionality of the Pathways platform.
• Ensure smooth integration between frontend and backend components.
• Participate in regular project team meetings, including sprint reviews, planning sessions, and daily stand-ups, to align on project goals and timelines.
• Contribute to the OpenHEXA product roadmap.
• Conduct code reviews and write comprehensive tests.

Required Skills

• Good professional experience as a Frontend-Full Stack Developer with strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of HTML/CSS and modern web design principles.
• Strong skills in React/TypeScript (or a similar frontend framework) for building dynamic, responsive user interfaces.
• Working experience with Python.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (or Azure / AWS).
• Strong SQL skills (ideally PostgreSQL).
• Extensive experience with API design and development.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English and ideally French.

Nice to Have

• Experience in UI/UX design principles to enhance user experience.
• Familiarity with Apache Superset or other data visualization tools for embedding interactive charts and dashboards in the frontend.
• Experience with Strapi or other headless CMS platforms to manage web content.
• Data Engineering experience.
• GraphQL experience.
• Optional experience with Infrastructure As Code tools (ideally Terraform).
