Senior Software Engineer - Code Analysis

Job Overview

Datadog is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Code Analysis team. This role is pivotal in building the next generation of developer tools that deliver Datadog's visibility and monitoring capabilities directly into our customers' code bases. You will work with tools such as static analysis and vulnerability scanners to detect and prevent quality and security vulnerabilities before they reach production.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with our Product Manager and Product Designer to iterate quickly on features and capabilities.
• Develop new infrastructure, services, and workflows to support our growing product sustainably.
• Lead technical efforts to develop architecture, patterns, and solutions to investigate and remediate problems.
• Own and drive relationships with major stakeholders, helping to prioritize impact towards the team’s north star.
• Represent and evangelize the project across Datadog.
• Participate in a team on-call rotation to troubleshoot and solve issues with our tools.

Qualifications

• Experience building robust customer-facing products made up of services, data stores, and data streams, prioritizing customer impact and sustainability.
• Proven ability to work closely with product and internal teams to architect solutions at high scale.
• Significant experience in one or more backend languages, such as Go, Python, or Java, and with different types of data stores, such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis, or ElasticSearch.
• Understanding of common industry patterns for ensuring high availability and performance in distributed systems.
• Passionate about working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, providing leadership and direction for a highly technical team.
• Experience with or interest in static analysis tools.

Bonus Points

• Experience working at high scale with systems like Redis, Cassandra, Kafka.
• Experience writing your own data pipelines.
• Significant experience with Go, Java, or Python.

Salary

The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role at Datadog is $130,000—$300,000 USD.
