About the Role
Join Semrush's Honey Team as a Senior Data Scientist, where you'll be at the forefront of advancing our data-driven products using your expertise in NLP and machine learning. This role is perfect for those passionate about turning ideas into reality through code, algorithms, and a touch of magic.
Responsibilities
- Prompt Engineering: Develop and refine prompts to optimize NLP model performance.
- Text Generation: Design, implement, and optimize models for producing coherent, contextually appropriate text outputs while maintaining high standards of text quality.
- Text Classification: Develop and improve models to accurately categorize and label text data, such as determining formality levels and classifying topics.
- Model Evaluation: Continuously evaluate and improve models using standard NLP metrics and develop custom metrics to ensure high performance, accuracy, and text quality.
Who We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable Python code.
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP).
- Experience with open-source LLMs like LLaMa and Phi-3, and API-based LLMs such as GPT, Claude AI, Gemini.
- Strong understanding of the principles of machine learning algorithms, probability theory, statistics, linear algebra.
- Experience working with databases.
- Proficiency with visualization tools.
- Ability to write tests for code and conduct code reviews.

The Honey team is responsible for the data science aspects of content tools such as Content Marketing Toolkit, ContentShake, and GoodContent Hub. Focusing on NLP and ML components, we work closely with other development teams to enhance product capabilities and deliver innovative solutions.
