Senior Front End Engineer - Network Engineering

About the Role

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Front End Engineer to join our Network Engineering team. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining the front-end applications that allow our teams to interact with and visualize our extensive network infrastructure. As a part of this team, you will be responsible for creating tools that help software engineers, network engineers, and product managers visualize and control one of the largest networks in the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain Applications: Build and run front-end applications used throughout the company to observe and interact with our network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with product owners, operators, and other software engineers to design and build user interfaces.
• Lifecycle Participation: Engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from designing and documenting systems to writing code and automated tests, and managing production software deployments.
• Technology Utilization: Utilize a wide range of technologies and programming languages including React, Next.js, TypeScript, ES6, Webpack, Jest, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in building web applications.
• Framework Proficiency: Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or AngularJS.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• UI Design: Experience designing intuitive user interfaces without direction from Product and/or UX Design.
• Network Knowledge: Knowledge of TCP/IP and Internet routing is a plus.
• API Design: Experience working with and/or designing RESTful APIs.
• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on curiosity and empathy.

Compensation

• Salary Range: €137,000 - €198,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
• Equity: Eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
