PiNCAMP is the camping startup of ADAC, ANWB, and TCS, operating in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and throughout Europe. We are an international team of over 80 digital experts who are digitizing the camping industry by combining the experience and reputation of our shareholders with the speed of an agile startup. Our goal is to become Europe’s leading camping platform. We are looking for passionate, hands-on individuals who want to grow with us and are eager to build an excellent product for campers and campsites alike.

What You Can Expect

PiNCAMP is transforming from an information portal into a transactional platform where users can find and book camping vacations in over 38 countries in Europe. We are building an international and multilingual product and are constantly expanding into more countries.

Our cross-functional Product & Engineering Team consists of more than 20 passionate Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Program Managers who help us create an agile work environment and build a great product with over 20 million visitors per year.

Your Responsibilities

• Take ownership of building web apps, APIs, services, and infrastructure for PiNCAMP.
• Actively discuss and execute implementation details and software architecture with other team members.
• Advocate for improvements in product quality, security, and performance.
• Recognize impediments to our efficiency as a team and propose and implement solutions.
• Embrace change and daily challenges while following the principles of agile development methodology.

What You Should Bring

We understand that a good software engineer can master new languages along the way. Here’s our ideal-world-scenario skill set:

• Proven track record and several years of experience in software development.
• Experience in back-end and front-end application and API development.
• Experience developing in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and other technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ).
• Delivered scalable, secure, and robust architectures.
• Good knowledge of the English language.

What’s Our Stack

• Our backend stack is built using mostly Python microservices, accompanied by Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform.
• Most of our data lies in PostgreSQL databases and OpenSearch.
• Our web app is built with NextJS/React on top of GraphQL/Apollo.
