Job Overview
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer at Target, you will be a key player in the engineering team supporting our Owned Brands. You will leverage your expertise in software development to influence and implement robust and scalable systems. Your role will involve working with a variety of technologies and frameworks, including Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin, HTML, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Acumen: Maintain and apply knowledge of current and emerging technologies within specialized areas of the technology domain.
- Evaluation and Decision-Making: Evaluate new technologies and participate in decision-making processes, considering factors such as viability, maintainability, and cost of ownership.
- Design and Architecture: Lead the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of services. Conduct code reviews, design reviews, testing, and debugging activities.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical oversight and coaching to resolve complex technical issues. Lead disaster recovery activities and contribute to disaster recovery planning.
- Data Quality: Embed data quality protocols throughout data acquisition, processing, storage, and operational use.
About the Team
You will be part of the team working on Spark, Target’s flagship Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool. Spark is a central hub for all Owned Brand product design and development, featuring a modern micro-service architecture and a rich UI.
Qualifications
- A 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Target’s technology capabilities.
- Experience with backend technologies like Java, Spring Boot, and Kotlin.
- Experience with frontend technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, ReactJS, and TypeScript.
- Strong problem-solving and design skills.
Work Environment
This position operates as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement, requiring both onsite and virtual work based on Target’s needs.
