We are looking for a Senior Ground Software Architect Engineer to join our Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines.

About the Role

As a Senior Ground Software Architect Engineer, you will be part of a growing team of experts working on ground and operations development tasks supporting both space-to-ground and ground-to-ground links throughout their full system lifecycle. You will work with a small, hardworking, and accomplished team of Ground System, Software, and Mission Operations Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve issues within software systems.
• Train and help plan the activities of the development team.
• Evaluate, identify, and develop software solutions.
• Direct solutions for critical challenges involving software and hardware interfaces.
• Ensure continuous productivity in software system design.

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. or higher degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in ground station development.
• 15+ years of professional aerospace experience.
• Proficiency with AWS.
• Strong communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Proven understanding of source control tools and concepts such as git workflows, versioning, branching.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in related discipline.
• Experience with NPR 7150.2D.
• Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Aerospace Industry experience with safety critical software and/or tools qualification activities.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary Range: $157,054 - $239,127 per year.
• Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
• Paid Time Off: Up to four weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
• Discretionary Bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
