Role Overview
This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. You will apply standard engineering knowledge to develop code responsible for the analysis, design, development, test, verification, release, and operations of the software that engineering systems rely on.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct requirement analysis, document technical specifications, and write, review, and debug code.
- Develop code for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using mathematical calculations, models, and simulations to understand, analyze, and predict the behavior of an object, part, assembly, or structure under various physical conditions.
- Create distinct code in the design and development of software meant for exclusive purposes or users while providing custom configuration and solutions.
Qualifications
- Successfully completed an internship with Blue Origin in 2024.
- Enrolled or recently graduating student attending a college or university.
- Able to start working full-time on or before September of 2025.
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in physics, aerospace engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar discipline.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
- Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for Blue’s Mission with a strong desire to continuously learn and improve.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualifications
- M.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
Locations
This role is based in Los Angeles, CA, but Blue Origin has multiple locations including Kent, WA; Van Horn, TX; Cape Canaveral, FL; Huntsville, AL; Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO; and Washington, DC.
Compensation
- The salary range for on-site CA applicants is €93,870 – €131,418.
