Overview
Meta is seeking a highly experienced Senior Production Engineer to join our dynamic team in Seattle. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and scalability of Meta's vast array of services, which include popular platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Meta Ads. As a Senior Production Engineer, you will be at the forefront of managing and expanding our infrastructure to meet the growing demands of billions of users worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage: You will own back-end services handling fleet management and front-end services such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Meta Ads. Your leadership will extend to infrastructure components that drive advances in AI and core services used by every team at Meta.
- Technical Expertise: With over 10 years of experience in UNIX and TCP/IP network fundamentals, you will write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and tackle the hardest problems live on some of the largest and most complex systems in the world.
- Mentorship and Collaboration: Lead your engineering team by example, mentor and help others grow, and be a force multiplier of impact across the company.
- On-call Duties: Share an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents, ensuring high availability and performance of Meta's services.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in roles such as Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Network Engineer.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in development languages like Python, C++, Rust, PHP/Hack, Go, Java, and infrastructure tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, and MySQL.
- Capacity Planning: Experience with internet service architecture and urgent capacity augmentation.
