Join Our Team as a Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Zanders is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer with a focus on backend development to join our dynamic team in Utrecht, Netherlands. As a key member of our development team, you will work on our leading Dutch-market bank transaction analytics SaaS platform, Navigator, and other innovative software solutions.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend systems that power our financial analytics platform. You will work with a tech stack that includes:

• Backend: Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, PostgreSQL via SQLAlchemy, MyPy)
• Frontend: NextJS, TypeScript

Your work will involve processing bank data, unifying data formats, classifying transactions, computing analytics, and providing clients with access through APIs and dashboards. You will collaborate with a small, focused team of engineers and have the opportunity to explore other areas such as infrastructure, frontend development, machine learning, and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend systems using Python and related technologies.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless user experiences.
• Work closely with the Solutions team to understand domain-specific requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure robust and reliable software.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.

About You

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including personal projects and university work.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with our tech stack.
• A hands-on mindset and a team player attitude.
• Willingness to work from our Amsterdam or Utrecht office 2-3 days a week, with flexibility to work remotely on other days.
