Job Description
Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Mainframe Database Tools team. This role is pivotal in building, testing, and supporting cutting-edge Mainframe Security solutions used by some of the world’s largest companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development: Apply your past experience to inform the product roadmap and develop modern, high-quality software.
- Testing: Create unit tests and perform functional testing to ensure software meets specifications and quality requirements.
- Customer Interaction: Engage with customers for demos and feedback sessions.
- Efficiency Improvement: Drive opportunities to increase efficiency and productivity through best practices.
Qualifications
- Experience: Typically, 5 years of experience in software development or a related field.
- Mainframe Expertise: Development experience in the IBM mainframe environment, including IBM Assembler/Metal C on the zOS platform.
- Debugging Skills: Proficient in mainframe debugging using IPCS, VM Trace, XDC, etc.
- Batch Processing: Experience implementing JCL to execute batch processes in zOS.
- Programming Knowledge: Exposure to RESTful APIs and Object-Oriented Programming.
- Database Tools: Knowledge of IBM Db2, IBM Db2 Utilities, CICS.
- Agile Environment: Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment.
- Mentorship: Experience mentoring and developing less experienced team members.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in a software-related field.
