Job Description
Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Mainframe Workload Automation team. This role is pivotal in developing high-quality applications using agile practices, focusing on Workload Automation solutions.
About the Role
Mainframe systems are integral to the digital economy, with a significant portion of the world's structured corporate data residing on mainframes. Our products are essential to many Fortune 1000 companies. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work on Workload Automation ESP, a tool that helps customers manage scheduled and event-based workloads across enterprise applications and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within an Agile Team to write high-quality, testable code.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
- Perform unit/module testing of software.
- Support and contribute to end-of-iteration demos.
- Responsible for integration, development, and deployment tasks.
- Contribute to team retrospectives and help resolve team impediments.
- Write and maintain documentation for program development.
- Mentor and coach junior developers.

Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in a related field.
- Typically, 12 or more years of experience in software development.

- Experience in HLASM, Rexx, z/OS services, and macros.
- Familiarity with debugging tools such as IPCS, XDC.
- Understanding of z/OS system principles and operations.
- Experience with QA and DevOps concepts such as test automation, CI/CD.
- Experience in C++ or Java is a plus.
