Job Overview
Zappos is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Catalog Engineering Team in Las Vegas, NV. This role involves making key technical decisions and implementing solutions that enhance the Zappos catalog experience, from new item setup to optimizing product and listing pages (PDP and PLP) for customer-centricity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based applications using AWS services (Lambda, ECS, SQS, S3, DynamoDB).
- Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and UX designers to ensure optimal customer experiences.
- Mentor junior developers, providing feedback and raising coding standards.
- Drive architectural and technology choices for elegant and practical code solutions.
- Work backwards from customer problems to implement scalable and speedy solutions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of seven years of professional experience in software development, specifically with Java 8+.
- Proficiency in Spring Framework and AWS technologies (DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, S3).
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
