About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our Application Platform and enhance our core Geolift product. This role is pivotal in creating new experiences for Geolift and expanding our application platform with a focus on scalability and long-term organizational growth.
Responsibilities
- Build and Maintain APIs: Develop and maintain effective APIs to support customer insights and ensure delightful user experiences.
- Process Improvements: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements using a variety of tools.
- Leadership: Play a key role in building a growing engineering organization as an early leader.
- On-call Rotation: Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure system reliability.
- Monitoring Tools: Build and tweak monitoring tools to understand feature viability in the wild.
- Feature Ownership: Own the features you build end-to-end, ensuring quality and performance.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience building scalable systems and APIs.
- Programming Languages: Proficient in at least one OOP language such as Python, TS, Scala, Golang, or Java.
- API Design: Strong focus on well-designed and well-documented APIs and scalable services.
- Cloud Environment: Experience working in a cloud environment.
- Database Management: Experience with relational databases like SQL.
- Leadership: Experience as a tech lead with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Startup Experience: Previous experience in an earlier stage startup.
- Web Frameworks: Experience with Flask or other Python web frameworks.
- Data Integrations: Experience with data integrations with third-party sources.

Work Environment
This position is remote-friendly, with hubs in the SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, and NYC. We offer optional weekly in-person days at a hub's local WeWork.
