About The Role

Join our Platform Enterprise team at Matterport, where you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend systems for the Matterport Platform, which serves billions of requests a month. What You Will Do
- Design, architect, and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance systems and APIs.
- Write clean, well-documented, and reusable code that adheres to coding standards.
- Lead technical discussions and provide input on design decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across the group to find technical solutions to complex problems.
- Implement best practices for code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
- Optimize the systems for performance, reliability, and security.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Proficiency with object-oriented programming languages such as Kotlin, Java, or C#.
- Strong understanding of backend frameworks and technologies like Spring, Kafka, Elasticsearch, GraphQL/REST.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs and microservices architectures.
- Solid understanding of database systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and proficiency in writing efficient SQL queries.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Bonus points for proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Bonus points for a solid understanding of NoSQL databases like FoundationDB or CouchDB.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
