Bynder is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Rotterdam. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our backend systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and efficient.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Bynder, you will:
- Design and Develop: Work on the backend architecture, designing and building high-performance applications from the ground up.
- Collaborate: Partner with designers, product owners, and other engineers to implement new features and improve existing ones.
- Innovate: Utilize the latest technologies, including Scala, Akka, and AWS Cloud, to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
- Lead: Act as an internal consultant, engaging with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Mentor: Guide junior engineers, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy applications using microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Kubernetes.
- Implement event sourcing and domain-driven design principles to enhance system reliability and performance.
- Ensure code quality through automated testing and continuous integration practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across team domains, ensuring seamless operation of backend services.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 3+ years in software development, with a focus on backend systems.
- Skills: Proficiency in Scala, AWS Cloud, and microservices architecture. Familiarity with Python and Java is a plus.
- Education: BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Agility: Experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
