About The Position Of Senior Backend Engineer
At the headquarters of the Bijenkorf, our e-commerce department is our youngest and fastest growing department. Our department handles the delivery of omni-channel projects and the support of various internal departments. Our projects include (but are not limited to) the development of our e-commerce platform, mobile applications, CMS, various content channels, and multichannel applications.
What will you do?
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will be part of one of our cross-functional agile development teams at the head office located in Amsterdam. You will be responsible for maintaining and continuously developing new features and functionality in the microservice environment of De Bijenkorf.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in a microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Ensure the scalability and reliability of backend systems.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our development processes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions are cutting-edge.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in back-end web development, particularly in a microservices environment.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
