Overview
Mollie, a leading financial services company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Milan. This role is crucial for developing one of our future flagship products within the Financial Services domain. You will be part of the 'Product M' team, working closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to launch a new MVP by early 2025.
Responsibilities
- Ownership: Take full ownership of the end-to-end development of the new product.
- Collaboration: Work with a team of 3-4 engineers to iterate from idea to final solution, including shaping, building, testing, and measuring performance.
- Innovation: Challenge existing ideas and contribute your own, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Quality Improvement: Enhance the overall quality of our platform by contributing to company-wide architecture and technology practices.
Technical Environment
- Frontend: Our apps are primarily written in TypeScript using React.
- Backend: The backend system is primarily Java (Spring Boot), hosted on Google Cloud. Adjacent services are built in PHP.
- Performance Focus: We prioritize performance, stability, and resilience, continuously enhancing our applications to handle growth.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: At least 6 years in developing large-scale web applications.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of Java (Spring Boot) and familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture patterns.
- Additional Skills: Experience with PHP, TypeScript, React, and Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the Payments, FinTech, or high-scale B2B SaaS space.
- Proven track record of leading complex cross-functional or cross-team initiatives.
- Experience mentoring other engineers and working in multi-disciplinary teams.
This is a hybrid role requiring presence in our Milan office combined with the flexibility to work remotely. We encourage applications from candidates across Europe, although please note that relocation support is not provided.
