Mollie is on a mission to make payments and money management effortless for every business in Europe. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam, where you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of embedded finance. As part of our Partnerships domain, you will craft seamless end-to-end experiences for our customers, building tools that simplify financial interactions for platforms and their customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Iterate from idea to final solution: Shape, build, test, and measure the performance of features our customers will love.
- Challenge ideas and contribute your own: We encourage a culture of open communication and innovation.
- Improve our tech stack: Work with Spring Boot and integrate with other services built in PHP.
- Enhance our platform: Contribute to our company-wide architecture and technology practices.
Our Architecture
Mollie’s frontend landscape consists of multiple apps, each optimized for its specific purpose, such as our merchant dashboard, API documentation, and mobile apps. Our apps are generally written in TypeScript using React. Our backend systems are primarily written in Java and PHP and are hosted on Google Cloud. We prioritize performance, stability, and resilience, continuously enhancing our applications to handle the next phase of growth.
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in developing large-scale web applications.
- Strong knowledge of Java (Spring Boot).
- Expertise in service-oriented architecture patterns and building scalable systems.
- Ability to think from both engineering and product perspectives.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working effectively with different stakeholders.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with PHP, TypeScript, React(.Native), and Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience in the Payments, FinTech, or large-scale B2B SaaS space.
- Track record of leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience mentoring other engineers.
