Mollie is on a mission to make payments and money management effortless for every business in Europe. As part of this journey, we are looking for talented software engineers to join our growing team. With our headquarters in the heart of Amsterdam and engineering hubs in Lisbon and Milan, we are expanding our Financial Services domain.
Your Role
As a Software Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in developing our next set of flagship products. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of product managers, designers, and engineers (backend, UI, mobile, full-stack) to build robust foundations for new Financial Service products.

Our Technology Stack
- Frontend: Our frontend landscape consists of multiple apps optimized for specific purposes, such as our merchant dashboard, API documentation, and mobile apps. These are generally written in TypeScript using React.
- Backend: Our backend system is primarily written in PHP and hosted on Google Cloud. Many adjacent services are built in Java (Spring Boot) and also run on Google Cloud.
- Focus: We prioritize performance, stability, and resilience, continuously enhancing our applications to handle the next phase of growth.
What You Bring
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in developing large-scale web applications.
- Technical Skills: Experience with PHP is preferable, and knowledge of other languages like Go, Java, or Python is a plus.
- Architecture: Familiarity with service-oriented architecture patterns and building scalable systems.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and experience working effectively with different stakeholders.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with TypeScript, React(.Native), and Google Cloud Platform.
- Previous work within the Payments, FinTech, or high-scale B2B SaaS space.
- A track record of leading complex cross-functional or cross-team initiatives to success.
- Experience mentoring other engineers and helping them grow and succeed.
