About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer within the Returning User Experience team at Taxfix, you will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, either remotely or from our modern office in Berlin. You will be instrumental in developing key features for our flagship product, ensuring high performance, scalability, and adherence to best practices. Your role will involve collaborating with product management, design, and other engineering teams to shape the technical direction of the product. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members and contribute to maintaining a healthy codebase by resolving technical debt.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver key features for our flagship product, ensuring performance and scalability.
• Redesign or optimize existing architecture to improve efficiency and responsiveness.
• Actively mentor less senior engineers, providing feedback during code reviews.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring features align with business and customer requirements.
• Lead initiatives to uphold high-quality code standards, including code reviews and testing practices.
• Identify and resolve technical debt to maintain a sustainable and clean codebase.

Your Profile

• Strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, with the ability to build scalable web applications.
• Proficient in backend development using Node.js.
• Expertise in frontend development with React and React Native.
• Solid knowledge of SQL for designing and maintaining efficient databases.
• Balanced expertise between frontend and backend, with a slight preference for backend development.
• You are a diversity champion.
• Nice to have: experience with Google Cloud Platform, familiarity with Golang, and knowledge of MongoDB.
