About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Infrastructure at Baseten, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure. This role involves setting the direction for and actively building the next versions of Baseten’s robust cloud infrastructure, which is crucial for our users who rely on it for building machine learning-powered applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and architect the development of our infrastructure using technologies like Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, and Knative.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters in production settings, ensuring high availability and security.
- Optimize infrastructure for scalability and performance, focusing on automation and efficient use of resources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate backend systems with our frontend frameworks like React and TypeScript, and ensure seamless data flow and functionality.
- Support machine learning teams by providing robust ML Ops platforms, enhancing their ability to deploy and manage AI models efficiently.
- Drive innovation by exploring and integrating new technologies that can enhance our infrastructure capabilities.
- Mentor and lead a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 3-10+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on infrastructure.
- Profound knowledge of programming languages like Python, Ruby, and Go.
- Extensive experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP) and database management (Postgres, Redis).
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience in frontend development with React and TypeScript is a plus.
