About the Role
Byterat is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (DevOps) to join our dynamic team in San Francisco. As a key member of our engineering department, you will manage and optimize our cloud infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of our high-throughput web applications and data pipelines. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and is eager to make a significant impact on a rapidly growing startup.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee our AWS and Elasticsearch cloud infrastructure using code and automated systems, including Kubernetes.
- Software Development: Build, test, and deploy software to manage, operate, and enhance our web applications and data pipelines.
- Operational Framework: Develop the framework for monitoring, deployment, and maintenance of our services.
- System Architecture: Collaborate with the product team to design system architectures that deliver key features and drive customer value.
Qualifications
- Education: BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years in a DevOps role with a strong background in build tools like GNU Make, CMake, Soong, Ninja, Gradle, and Bazel.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, CircleCI), and infrastructure as code (Helm, Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitoring & Scripting: Expertise in monitoring tools (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, ELK Stack) and strong scripting skills in Bash or Python.
