About the Team
The Experience team at Storytel is dedicated to delivering the most reliable and seamless audio and ebook experiences to millions of users. As a cross-functional team, we handle the entire development cycle—from discovery and ideation through implementation to shipping and learning. Our focus is on user-facing features such as streaming, content exploration, recommendations, search, and user libraries.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions using Java, Go, and Kotlin. You will maintain services deployed in Kubernetes on the Google Cloud Platform, work on solutions built on top of Elastic search, and collaborate closely with the Machine Learning team to enhance user personalization.
Your responsibilities will include driving initiatives to develop our product differentiation and user engagement, interacting with various engineering teams, and contributing to infrastructure improvements.
About You
To excel in this role, you should have a solid background in backend development, particularly in Java, Go, and Kotlin. A good understanding of modern architecture, system design, data structures, and software engineering principles is essential. Experience in deploying and operating services in a cloud environment, particularly on Google’s Cloud Platform, is highly valued.
You should be a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment but also capable of working autonomously to achieve results. Your passion for building great products and making technology choices with the end-goal in mind is crucial.
