As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you'll be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing the full-stack systems behind our customer-facing analytics application. You'll tackle the challenges of handling massive datasets, ensuring our platform remains performant and scalable as we continue to empower creators worldwide. What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and optimize the frontend and backend systems that power Vimeo's customer-facing analytics application.
• Build and maintain robust and scalable APIs that deliver data efficiently to the frontend.
• Design and implement efficient database queries to extract and aggregate meaningful insights from massive datasets.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration and data delivery between frontend and backend components.
• Contribute to the evolution of our tech stack with a focus on performance and reliability, which includes React with TypeScript, PHP APIs, and Scala RPCs.
• Mentor and guide other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Skills and Knowledge You Should Possess:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on full-stack development.
• Demonstrable understanding of frontend and backend architecture, performance optimization, and scalability.
• Proven experience working with large analytical datasets.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following: PHP, Scala, JS/TS.
• A working knowledge of Kubernetes and gRPCs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
• A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and a drive to deliver high-quality results.

Salary and Benefits:

• Targeted Base Salary Range: $127,800 to $196,000

The base salary range listed above is for candidates located in the U.S., including the New York City metro area. At Vimeo, we strive to hire and nurture amazing talent across the globe. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience, specialized skills, internal alignment, and a candidate’s home base.
