About the Role
Vimeo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our OTT team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about building high-quality software and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. You will be part of a small but mighty engineering team that values curiosity, technical excellence, and diversity of thought.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Code: Write well-tested and performant code for our web platform using Ruby, JavaScript, and other languages as needed. You will make significant contributions to projects that affect the core architecture of the Vimeo OTT platform.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with other teams to deliver rich experiences to our users. You will grow your technical expertise and become an effective collaborator on complex integrations and innovative technical solutions.
- Enhance System Performance: Improve performance, monitoring, alerting, and security for our services. Participate in our on-call rotation to ensure system reliability.
- Leadership and Best Practices: Develop, refine, and uphold best practices and standards. Become a trusted engineering leader within the team.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in shipping high-impact, well-factored features in Ruby on Rails.
- Web Development Expertise: Strong understanding of modern web development concepts and best practices.
- User-Focused: Prioritize shipping user value and focus on making an impact for users.
- Quality Code: Commitment to writing high-quality code and automated tests.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Curiosity and Learning: A passion for learning and the ability to adapt to new challenges.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary Range: €127,800 to €196,000 per year.
