Role Overview
As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Zoox, you will be pivotal in building the architecture that underpins our simulation frameworks. Your role involves designing and supporting foundational simulation software, owning the interface between simulation and the rest of the self-driving software stack, and improving simulation performance both directly and by developing tools to assist others.
Responsibilities
- Architect and support foundational simulation software and framework.
- Own the interface between simulation and the rest of the self-driving software stack.
- Improve simulation performance: both directly and by building tools to help others.
- Build systems that allow users to self-serve or get help to accelerate their work.
- Ensure the reproducibility of simulation results.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in a related field.
- A BS in Computer Science or a similar discipline.
- 4+ years industry experience writing C++.
- System design experience, especially of software in computer clusters.
- Experience in performance optimization, from single-threaded applications to whole clusters.
Bonus Qualifications
- Automotive, robotics, or video game industry experience.
- Familiarity with ROS and PubSub systems.
Compensation
This position offers a salary range of $200,000 to $285,000, with potential for a sign-on bonus. Compensation may vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
