• Working hours: 40hrs/week
• Working Location: Berlin or remote in Germany
• Reports to: Engineering Manager
• Desired start date: As soon as possible

Your Challenge at Wire

Be ready to play an essential role by joining our Web Team in Berlin. You will create the first milestones for Wire and become a pioneer in transforming how organisations and governments communicate securely. You work closely with the Product Team and interact with other client development teams regularly. Your new area of expertise:

Responsibilities

• You’ll construct smooth and pleasant user interfaces
• You’ll create reusable React components with TypeScript
• You’ll maintain a living style guide
• You’ll be able to showcase your work publicly on GitHub
• You’ll use the latest web technologies (Web Workers, WebRTC & Web Assembly)
• You’ll share your knowledge in “Today I Learned (TIL)” sessions
• You’ll work on cutting edge technologies to ensure private and secure communications

Qualifications

• You have at least 4 years of experience working with TypeScript
• You have at least 5 years of experience with React
• You know how to make practical use of CSS (Media queries, flexible images, etc.)
• You have a working understanding of different data encryption techniques
• You’re experienced with build tools (web pack, npm scripts, lerna)
• You have experience with Electron - a plus but not a requirement
• You have experience with crafting well-designed API
• You are able to translate product requirements into technical specifications
• You are able to lead feature development from design to testing and finally deployment
• You understand the value of unit tests and you are comfortable with TDD
• You are able to mentor junior developers and foster their development
• You enjoy a collaborative environment and pair programming
