Principal Software Engineer, Remote Telemetry
Overview
Join Microsoft’s Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team as a Principal Software Engineer focused on Remote Telemetry. This role is pivotal in supporting Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure, which powers the company’s "Intelligent Cloud" mission. You will be part of the Manufacturing Diagnostics as a Service core team, innovating existing CI/CD cloud applications and designing new frameworks for remote testing and validation.
Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Create and maintain remote execution frameworks using cloud applications. Extend robust workflow frameworks to ensure product quality.
- Collaboration: Work with the MTE team to develop solutions for testing PCBAs, storage enclosures, and racked assemblies at ODM & Contract Manufacturer sites.
- Data Analysis: Partner with developers and data scientists to analyze data from MDaaS test runs.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation on processes and procedures within the MDaaS Core team.
- Cross-Functional Interface: Interface with internal reliability and qualification teams to align test coverage.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- 5+ years of experience in software for cloud/enterprise, consumer electronics design, or hyperscale supply chain systems.
- Experience partnering with international development teams.
Preferred
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience with server products and complex Python Object-Oriented Programming.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and computer subsystems.
- Experience in FPGA or GPU product development.
