About the Role
Join Microsoft's M365 COSMIC team as a Senior Software Engineer. We are responsible for designing, building, and operating a global scale managed-runtime environment based on Azure Kubernetes Service. This environment, akin to a 'Kubernetes PaaS', is designed to enhance the productivity, happiness, and effectiveness of Microsoft service teams and developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Drive the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms. Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements and leverage feedback to improve future designs.
- Code Quality: Lead by example by producing extensible and maintainable code. Review team members' code to ensure it meets quality standards and is appropriate for the scale of the product.
- Experimentation and Testing: Conduct experiments to determine the effectiveness of changes, monitor developments for prototyping and testing products, and interpret results.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Rust, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
Preferred
- 2+ years of experience with Linux and Kubernetes runtime management and monitoring.
- Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
- A self-starting problem-solver who thrives on resolving complex challenges through independent research and experimentation.
Work Environment
