Fathom is a pioneering healthcare technology company on a mission to streamline clinical data processing through advanced AI and machine learning technologies. We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer (Backend/Data) to join our team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is crucial for developing data infrastructure and systems that support our AI-driven medical coding solutions.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data infrastructure to ingest, sanitize, and normalize a broad range of medical data, including electronic health records and medical ontologies.
- Design and implement performant and expressive interfaces to facilitate access to processed data.
- Build scalable cloud-based machine learning infrastructure to support data ingestion and processing at large scale.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and enhance backend systems and data pipelines.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 2 years of software engineering experience in a production environment.
- Strong foundation in computer science with proficiency in algorithms, data structures, and systems design.
- Experience with backend development, particularly in Python or similar languages.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of first principles.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with healthcare data management and familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
- Expertise in managing large-scale data labeling and acquisition projects.
