Job Overview

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) is seeking a Software Engineer I, Cloud to join our dynamic team. As a software engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our cloud-based solutions that aim to make roads safer by improving driver behavior. This position is ideal for a collaborative, customer-focused, and creative individual with a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the team by following proper software development procedures and methodologies.
  • Assist in solving complex problems and transforming them into business solutions.
  • Participate in code and design reviews to ensure high-quality software development.
  • Engage in full-stack design and development with a focus on maintainability, usability, scalability, and performance.
  • Analyze and translate business and functional specifications into technical specifications.
  • Provide support for occasional production issues.
  • Adhere to the company's development and operational standards and processes.
  • Complete additional tasks as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Ability to learn quickly and solve complex problems.
  • Strong collaboration skills in a team environment.
  • Experience with general development tasks on Linux.
  • Some professional engineering experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Python, Swift, or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, SNS, and SQS.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies, specifically Docker.
  • Experience in developing web applications, including HTTP REST backend and React frontend.
  • Ability to commute to our Cambridge, MA office 3 days per week.
