About the Role

As a Software Engineer at Sovos, you will leverage technology to solve complex problems at scale, focusing on security, performance, reliability, and maintainability. You will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and Maintain APIs: Develop, test, deploy, and maintain client-facing APIs hosted on the Apigee Edge SaaS platform.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, and Business Analysts to refine requirements and designs.
• Cross-Functional Teamwork: Participate in cross-functional teams to deliver solutions from inception through customer delivery.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, standards, and practices.
• Coding Standards: Develop software consistent with Sovos coding standards and conventions.
• Agile Environment: Collaborate in a fast-paced agile environment to release new features each sprint.
• Learning and Development: Engage in continuous learning by exploring new technologies and participating in knowledge sharing.

What We Need From You

• SDLC Competency: Active participation in all major SDLC activities (Planning, Stand Up, Story Time, etc.).
• TDD and CI Practices: Develop skills using Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI) practices.
• Technical Expertise: Build skills in web services, RESTful APIs, and web development.
• Problem Solving: Work with team members to solve complex problems and troubleshoot issues.
• Documentation: Contribute to technical design documentation, release notes, and bug fix documentation.
• Testing Protocols: Design and perform testing protocols to ensure product quality.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in JavaScript, NodeJS, React.JS, and Python.
• Experience with markup languages such as HTML and jQuery.
• Expertise in unit testing with Jest or Mocha.
• Knowledge of XML, JSON, SOAP, and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with API management tools like APIGEE.
• Advanced English skills (written and verbal).
