About the Role
American Express is seeking talented Software Engineering Interns to join our 10-week Summer Internship Program in Sunrise, FL. This program offers real, on-the-job work experience and the opportunity to work on a variety of projects within our scrum teams. As an intern, you will gain valuable skills and experience that will help accelerate your studies and future career.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on building global scale software using a variety of tools and frameworks.
- Engage in projects ranging from machine learning, big data, native mobile applications, backend services, full stack web applications, to UX/UI focused development.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Senior Engineers, and Application Architects to conceptualize and build new products.
- Participate in code reviews and write unit tests.
- Take part in social activities, community service events, and projects with other interns.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in developing products or projects in an academic, professional, or personal setting.
- Some entry-level software development experience.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, Rust, Go, Kotlin, and Node.js.
