About the Role

As a Full Stack Engineer at American Express, you will be a core member of an agile team responsible for developing responsive web applications. You will engage in hands-on software development, primarily focusing on writing code, unit tests, conducting code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints. Your role will involve continuous refactoring of code, applying visualization techniques, and delivering continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a core member of an agile team driving user story analysis and developing responsive web applications.
• Perform hands-on software development, including writing code and unit tests, conducting code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints.
• Engage in ongoing refactoring of code and apply visualization and other techniques to fast track concepts.
• Develop a deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms within the supported domains.
• Bring a culture of innovation, ideas, and continuous improvement.
• Challenge the status quo, demonstrate risk-taking, and implement creative ideas.
• Work closely with product managers, back-end, and other front-end developers to implement versatile solutions to tricky web development problems.
• Finalize HTML prototypes into Web Applications by integrating with back-end services and functionality.
• Adopt emerging standards while promoting standard methodologies and consistent framework usage.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience working in JavaScript and able to demonstrate good JavaScript knowledge.
• Ability to demonstrate good web fundamentals & knowledge of DOM.
• Experience writing adaptive and responsive UI applications.
• Knowledge of HTML5, React, Redux, Angular, Express, Middleware with recent experience in ES6.
• 3-5 years of experience in writing JavaScript applications in Node.js.
• Experience with REST-based interfaces.
• Experience of working in Java, Java EE is a big plus.
• 3+ years of experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) / Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
• 1+ year experience of GraphQL is a big plus.
• Experience in a11y and I18N is a plus.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits.
