About the Role
American Express is seeking a talented Senior Full Stack Engineer with expertise in JavaScript and Python to join our Cyber Data Engineering & Products organization. This role involves developing and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of our web applications and data products. You will be instrumental in delivering solutions that support major functions within the Technology Risk & Information Security organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using JavaScript and Python.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs to support front-end functionality and backend data engineering pipelines.
- Collaborate with the development team to define and implement CI/CD pipelines.
- Utilize Git for version control and participate in code reviews.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software development experience in a professional environment with a background in Information Security.
- Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Strong experience with Python frameworks like Django or Flask.
- Experience with relational database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Experience working with document stores such as Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Git and version control workflows.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Github Actions).
- Experience in developing RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and testing skills for enterprise-grade software solutions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
