Role Overview
The Staff Backend Engineer will join the Developer Platform team, which is focused on building systems that support Webflow’s APIs and enable external developers to build new products by extending Webflow’s core capabilities. This role is crucial for spearheading the technical vision and building a best-in-class platform for apps and integrations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to build product capabilities that allow third-party developers to extend Webflow's functionality.
- Bring deep experience with API development at scale, enhancing team practices with your expertise in authentication and authorization best practices.
- Solve complex technical challenges in a platform that empowers hundreds of developers and customers.
- Participate in all engineering activities including incident response, interviewing, designing, reviewing technical specifications, code review, and releasing new functionality.
- Improve planning, development, and deployment processes to enhance team efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Passion for developing for a technical audience.
- 7+ years of experience in backend systems at scale.
- 3+ years in developing APIs for external use.
- Proficiency in Node.js, writing scalable services and APIs using Express.js and MongoDB.
- Ability to debug production issues across services and multiple stack levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on a collaborative, distributed team.
